Overview

This page helps you understand how to add, update, or delete an entity in the Finvisage application. As part of adding an entity, you need to input the entity details on the New page, which can be accessed by clicking the Menu icon at the bottom of Entity page. 

Apart from adding, you also can edit or delete an existing entity. However, you can't delete an entity if it contains sub entities.

Adding a New Entity

1. On the Side Panel of Finvisage application, click Settings. 

    The Settings menu is expanded. 

2. On the expanded Settings menu, click Entity.

The Entity page is displayed.

3. On the Entity page, click the Menu icon at the right bottom of the page to view the Add button, and then click it. 

The New page is displayed.

4. On the New page, enter the details as shown in the table below:

Field	Instruction
Name	In this field, enter a Name for the entity. For example, C Mart. Note: This field is mandatory.
Short Code	In this field, enter a Short Code for the entity. This is for internal naming within the system. For example, CM.  Note: This field is mandatory.
Functional Ccy	From this drop-down box, select the Currency.  Note: This field is mandatory.
Hierarchy	From this drop-down box,  select the Hierarchy choosing from Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4.  Tip: The new entity will be displayed on the Entity page based on the selected hierarchy.  Note: This field is mandatory.
Parent Entity	From this drop-down box,  select the Parent Entity to which the new entity is to be associated with.   Note: This field is mandatory.
Additional Info	In this box, enter Additional Information, if any.
Address Button	Click the Address button, and then enter the address in the address fields that appear. Note: In the Address panel, all the fields are mandatory.

5.  Finally, click the Create button.

The entity is created and displayed on the Entity page.

Updating an Existing Entity

1. On the Entity page, click the Edit menu corresponding to the entity, which you wish to edit. See the image below.

The Edit button appears.

2. Click the Edit button.

The Edit page is displayed. 

3. On the Edit page, make the desired changes, and then click the Update button at the  bottom.

The Entity was successfully updated message is displayed.

Deleting an Entity

You can't delete an entity if it has sub entities. 

1. On the Entity page, click the Edit menu corresponding to the entity, which you wish to delete. 

The Edit and Delete options appear.

2. Click the Delete option.The Are you Sure? message box is displayed. 

3. On the Are you Sure? message box, click the OK button.

The Entity was successfully deleted message is displayed.
