Overview

This page helps you understand how to add a new user group in the Finvisage application. 


User Groups help set up entity level access permissions for user / group of users.


As part of the process, you need to add the new user group details on the New page. You can access this New page by clicking the Menu icon on the User group page. Once the details are entered and saved, the new user group is added to the user Groups tab. 


Apart from adding new user group, you can also update an existing one by making any changes to it depending on the requirement.




Adding a New User Group


1. On the Side Panel of Finvisage application, click Settings. 

The Settings menu is expanded.

2. On the expanded Settings menuclick User Management.

The User Management page is displayed with Users and User Groups tabs. 


3. On the User Management  page, click the User Groups tab.


The User Groups page is displayed.


4. On the User Groups page, click the Menu icon at the right bottom of the page to view the Add button, and then click it.



The New page page is displayed.


5. On the New page:


A. In the Name field, enter a name for the user group. 


B. From the Owner drop-down box, select a owner for the user group.


C. From the Assign Users drop-down box, select the users who wish to be part of the user group.


Note: To assign the users, you need to first create them on the Users tab.


D. From the Assign Entities drop-down box, select the entities.


Note: To assign the entities, you need to first create them in the Entity page.


F. In the Description box, enter a description for the user group.


G. Click the Create button. 


The User Group was successfully created message is displayed.




Editing a User Group


1. On the Side Panel of Finvisage application, click Settings. 

The Settings menu is expanded.

2. On the expanded Settings menuclick User Management.

The User Management page is displayed with Users and User Groups tabs. 


3. On the User Management  page, click the User Groups tab.


The User Groups page is displayed.


4. On the User Groups page, click the user group, which you wish to edit.


The User Group Details are displayed.


5. On the User Group Details page, click the Menu icon at the right bottom of the page to view the Edit button, and then click it.


The Edit page is displayed.


6. On the Edit page, make the desired changes, and then click the Update button at the bottom.


Tip: You can make any change depending on your requirement. For example, you can change the group name, owner, users, entities, or description.


The Group details were successfully updated message is displayed.
