Overview 


This page helps you understand how to add a new commercial paper in the Finvisage application. As part of the process, you need to add the new commercial paper details on the New page. You can access this New page by clicking the Menu icon on the Bank Commercial Paper page. Once the details are entered and saved, the new commercial paper  is added. 


Apart from the above, this page also provides information on how to delete and close a commercial paper. 



What is a Commercial Paper?

Commercial Paper is a short term and unsecured debt instrument. It is generally issued by the eligible corporates, primary dealers, and financial institutions in the denominations of 5 lakh or multiples thereof to finance inventories, account payables, and payroll, etc. As per RBI, the prescribed minimum periods of a CP is seven days whereas the maximum is up to one year from the date of issue.
 



Adding a Commercial Paper


1. On the Side Panel of the Finvisage application, click Liability. 

The Liability menu is expanded.

2. On the expanded Liability menuclick Commercial Paper.

The Commercial Paper page is displayed.


3. On the Commercial Paper page, click the Menu icon at the right bottom of the page to view the Add button, and then click it.


The New page is displayed.


4. On the New page:


A. In the External ID field, enter the External ID.


Note: You can enter any number as an external ID.


B. In the ISIN field, enter the International Securities Identification Number of the  commercial paper. 


Tip: The International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) is a unique number. It is used to identify instruments such as commercial paper, bonds, equity, and warrants, etc. It must contain 2 characters from A to Z, followed by 9 characters from 0 to 9 or A to Z, and then followed by one digit from 0 to 9.


C. In the Maturity Date field, enter the maturity date of the commercial paper. 


D. From the Issuer drop-down box, select the issuer of the commercial paper. 


E. In the RTA field, enter the Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) of the commercial paper. 


E. In the IPA field, enter the Issuing and Paying Agent (IPA) of the commercial paper.


F.  From the Currency drop-down box, select the currency of the commercial paper.


G. In the Issue Current Account field, enter the current account of the commercial paper.


H. In the Issue Demat Account field, enter the demat account of the commercial paper.


I.  Click the Create button at the bottom.


The Commercial Paper Successfully created message is displayed.




Deleting a Commercial Paper


You can delete any commercial paper by clicking the Delete icon on the Commercial Paper page. Once the deleted, the commercial paper will be removed from the Finvisage application. 

However, what is important to take note before deleting commercial paper is - if you delete a commercial paper, the data associated with it also be deleted along with it.


To delete a commercial paper

1. On the Side Panel of the Finvisage application, click Liability. 

The Liability menu is expanded.

2. On the expanded Liability menuclick Commercial Paper.

The Commercial Paper page is displayed.


3. On the Commercial Paper page, click the External ID corresponding to the commercial paper, which you wish to delete.


 The corresponding commercial Paper details are displayed.


4. On the Commercial Paper details page, click the Menu button next to the Help icon at the right bottom to view the Delete icon, and then click it.


The Delete this Commercial paper and associated data? message is displayed.


5. On the Delete this Commercial paper and associated data? message, click the OK button.


The Commercial Paper was successfully deleted messages is displayed.




Closing a Commercial Paper


You can close any commercial paper by clicking the Close icon on the Commercial Paper page. Once the closed, the commercial paper will be removed from the Finvisage application. 


To close a commercial paper


1. On the Side Panel of the Finvisage application, click Liability. 

The Liability menu is expanded.

2. On the expanded Liability menuclick Commercial Paper.

The Commercial Paper page is displayed.


3. On the Commercial Paper page, click the External ID corresponding to the commercial paper, which you wish to delete.


 The corresponding commercial Paper details are displayed.


4. On the Commercial Paper details page, click the Menu button next to the Help icon at the right bottom to view the Close icon, and then click it.


The Close Liability screen is displayed on the right.


5. On the Close Liability screen:


A. From the Closing Date, select the closing date of commercial paper.


B. In the Closing Notes box, enter the notes for closing the commercial paper.


C. Click the Submit button.


         The Closed successfully message is displayed.
